Neu-Isenburg nursing home team earns national acclaim for exceptional elderly care
A team from An den Platanen nursing home in Neu-Isenburg has secured 9th place in the national finals of Germany’s Most Popular Care Professionals. The competition, backed by the German government’s nursing commissioner, celebrates outstanding work in elderly care. Their achievement follows a strong regional win in Hesse, where they received the most public votes. The contest was launched in 2017 by the Association of Private Health Insurers (PKV) to recognize high-quality care across Germany. An den Platanen, run by Mission Leben gGmbH, first won the Hesse state title before advancing to the national stage. Four team members—Regine Kamps-Steiger, Svenja Kruse, Angela Hartmann, and mentor John—attended the final gala. The nursing home has built a reputation for exceptional care, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic. Their team’s professionalism helped achieve a lower mortality rate than the national average. Residents also benefit from fewer hospital admissions, thanks to the staff’s expertise. Employee loyalty at An den Platanen is notably high, with many carers staying for decades. This cohesion and long-term commitment have contributed to the home’s success in the competition. The 9th-place finish highlights the dedication of the Neu-Isenburg team. Their work has set a benchmark in care quality, reducing hospital visits and improving resident outcomes. The national recognition further underlines their role as a leading example in Germany’s nursing sector.
