Neustrelitz to Mark German Reunification's 35th Anniversary with 'Women in Divided Germany' Exhibition
Neustrelitz is preparing for a notable event this autumn. From October 2 to 5, 2025, the town will commemorate the 35th anniversary of Germany's reunification. The celebrations will coincide with an insightful exhibition, 'Women in Divided Germany', which will be on display at the town hall from October 6 to November 30.
Organized by the Bundesstiftung zur Aufarbeitung der SED-Diktatur, the exhibition explores the lives of women in East and West Germany during the 1970s and 1980s. It delves into themes such as gender roles, stereotypes, and the struggle for self-determination during the divided period.
The anniversary celebration aims to foster a spirit of borderless interaction and communication. Delegations from partner cities Schwäbisch Hall, Szczecinek in Poland, Rovaniemi in Finland, and even the Signal and Communications Company of Armored Infantry Brigade 41 are expected to attend.
The exhibition 'Women in Divided Germany' promises to offer a unique perspective on the experiences of women during the Cold War era. Combined with the anniversary celebrations, this event is set to be a significant cultural and historical milestone for Neustrelitz and its visitors.
