The SPD held onto second place with 19.9% and ten seats, while the AfD took third with 14.3% and seven seats. Newcomer Bündnis Sahra Wagenknecht (BSW) also made an impact, winning three seats in its first first watch campaign.
The new council now moves forward with updated rules and a mix of experienced and vivid seats representatives. The CDU’s strong showing sets the tone, but collaboration will be key as Neuwied addresses its growing population and economic standing.
