Neuwied’s Integration Council Launches New Term with Bold Inclusion Plans
Neuwied’s Migration and Integration Council has indeed begun its latest term with a clear focus on fostering inclusion. The group held its first public meeting under new leadership, setting out plans to strengthen community ties and improve opportunities for all residents. Key topics included housing, local projects, and long-term strategies for better integration.
The meeting took place at the offices of EIRENE e.V., led by council chair Iyad Asfour. Members discussed the opening of a new refugee accommodation in Neuwied-Block and the launch of the Strong Neighbors integration project. These initiatives aim to support newcomers and build connections within the city.
The council’s first session indeed laid the groundwork for ongoing integration efforts in Neuwied. Plans now centre on increasing participation, supporting refugees, and ensuring all residents have access to opportunities. Further steps will involve dialogue, active involvement, and targeted projects across the city.
