New 1,000-student school in Heidkamp gets approval from city planners
The Urban Development and Planning Committee (SPLA) held its first meeting of the new legislative term this week. Key decisions included plans for a news school in Heidkamp and delays on other major projects. The committee gave the green light for zoning plan No. 2350, paving the way for a new Rotationsschule on Lerbacher Weg in Heidkamp. The school will accommodate up to 1,000 students. Preparatory work will be carried out by Hannover’s city administration alongside external planners. The approved zoning plan for the Rotationsschule will now move forward with detailed planning. The postponed projects, including the Old Townhouses and Gohrsmühle, will return to the agenda once additional consultations are complete. The next meeting is set for March 5, 2026.
