Saxony's Democracy Center Opens New Hub in Bautzen - New Bautzen office aids victims of far-right and racist violence

A new counselling office has opened in Bautzen to support victims of far-right, racist and antisemitic violence. The initiative, launched by the Saxony Democracy Centre, was announced by Minister Petra Köpping of the SPD. Its goal is to provide fast and expert help to those affected by hostility and discrimination.

The office will focus on cases involving right-wing extremism, racism, antisemitism and other forms of targeted aggression. Victims can now access specialised assistance in the region.

Beyond direct support, the centre will expand its services to include mobile counselling teams. These teams will work in schools and communities to address discrimination and promote awareness. The initiative aims to reach more people across Saxony with tailored guidance. Minister Köpping highlighted the importance of immediate and professional aid for those facing hate-motivated attacks. The new office strengthens existing efforts to combat extremism and protect vulnerable groups.

The Bautzen location marks a key step in widening support for victims of far-right and discriminatory violence. Mobile teams and school programmes will extend the centre's reach. Those affected can now seek help more easily across the region.
