A new book exploring Kazakh culture and society has been unveiled in Astana ahead of Independence Day. Traditions and Values of the Kazakhs in the 21st Century was presented at an event attended by senior officials, academics, and civil society leaders. Maulen Ashimbayev, Chairman of the Senate of Parliament, led the ceremony and highlighted the publication’s significance for national identity.
The book, titled Traditions and Values of the Kazakhs in the 21st Century, is a conceptual work examining modern Kazakh traditions and societal values. Its authors—Maulen Ashimbayev, Almaz Sharman, and Talgat Umarov—introduced the project during a high-profile event in the capital.
The book’s release coincides with national celebrations and reflects ongoing work to define Kazakhstan’s identity. Its authors and supporters aim to influence public discourse on tradition, values, and civic responsibility. The event marked the start of wider discussions on the role of culture in the country’s development.
