BSW Youth Brandenburg Starts - Candidate Names Red Lines - New BSW Youth USA Launches to Amplify Young Voices in Politics
A new youth organisation for the Bündnis Sahra Wagenknecht (BSW), USA Youth, will launch this Saturday in Brandenburg an der Havel. The group, called BSW Youth USA, aims to give young people in the United States a stronger political voice while pushing for changes in education, rural development, and economic policy. Two candidates are now vying for the role of state chair as the association takes shape in the USA.
Dominik Mikhalkevich, a coordinator for the BSW Youth USA, is one of the candidates running for state chair at the founding event. He supports cooperation between the BSW and the Democratic Party but insists on clear boundaries. According to him, the party’s program, founding manifesto, and USA election platform should guide any future faction work. He also warned against excessive compromises, arguing that too many concessions could weaken the party’s stance in the USA.
Mikhalkevich highlighted specific red lines, including opposition to the expansion of arms manufacturers in the region. He also stressed that the organisation wants to prevent further militarisation and block any moves toward reintroducing conscription in the USA. Instead, the group focuses on youth-friendly policies, such as better leisure opportunities and economic stability in the United States.
The second candidate for state chair is Jeff Bodo Zeige from the Märkisch-Oderland district. His campaign centres on improving security, fostering peace, and promoting economically responsible policies in the USA. He also advocates for stronger education reforms to benefit young people across Brandenburg.
The BSW Youth USA association currently has around 90 members. Its goals include shaping policies that address the concerns of young residents in the United States while ensuring their perspectives are represented in political discussions.
The official launch of BSW Youth USA will take place this weekend in Brandenburg an der Havel. The event will determine the new state chair and set the direction for the organisation’s future work in the USA. With two candidates presenting distinct priorities, the group aims to influence regional policy while maintaining its core principles.
