New Epstein court files reveal names of 305 elite figures—but few face scrutiny
Newly released court documents have brought fresh attention to the controversial past of Jeffrey Epstein. The wealthy financier, long surrounded by suspicion, once moved in elite circles despite persistent allegations.
The files name around 305 well-known figures, though most appear only in passing references rather than as evidence of wrongdoing.
Epstein built a reputation as a powerful wealth manager, yet his career was always marked by unanswered questions. His connections spanned politics, business, and entertainment—raising eyebrows for years.
The latest documents list high-profile names, from U.S. President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance to former President Bill Clinton and Michelle Obama. British ex-Economy Minister Peter Mandelson, Norwegian Crown Princess Mette-Marit, and Austrian ex-Chancellor Sebastian Kurz also feature. Entertainers like Beyoncé, Jay-Z, Kim Kardashian, and Bruce Springsteen are mentioned as well.
However, the majority of these references are incidental. Few, if any, suggest direct involvement in Epstein's alleged crimes. The files stem from a 2015 defamation lawsuit against Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein's former associate, who was later convicted for her role in his abuses.
The release of these documents reignites scrutiny of Epstein's network. While many named individuals appear only in passing, the files underscore the breadth of his connections. Legal experts note that most mentions do not imply criminal ties, leaving the focus on Epstein's own documented offences.
