New €150M Hotel to Rise in Berlin-Mitte After Demolition

A new hotel is set to rise in Berlin-Mitte after the demolition of a former East German residential building on Mollstraße. The Hilpert Gruppe, a project developer, is behind the €150 million project, which will open by the end of 2028. The hotel will span approximately 14,650 square meters and operate under the 'Voco' brand by Novum Hospitality.

The site, previously home to a vacant residential building, will now host a 440-room hotel. Construction is slated to commence in mid-2026. The Hamburg-based investor initially mulled over an office complex but ultimately chose a hotel. Local politicians from the CDU and Green Party had advocated for renovating the building, but it was demolished nonetheless. The project was developed by NOVUM Hospitality, which will also operate the hotel under the 'Voco' brand.

The new hotel, expected to open by the end of 2028, will offer 440 rooms to guests. The €150 million project, developed by the Hilpert Gruppe, will bring a significant addition to the hospitality scene in Berlin-Mitte, following the demolition of the former residential building.
