New Exhibition Celebrates Diverse Immigration Stories in Wartburg District
A new exhibition, 'Faces and Stories - Diverse Migration in the Wartburg District', has opened its doors at the Children and Youth Art School Wartburg District. The exhibition, initiated by Silvia Göhre, showcases portraits and stories of individuals with migration backgrounds living in the region. It is part of the Intercultural Week and will be on display until the end of October, with free admission.
The idea for the project emerged from the Youth Migration Service, headed by Annett Luther-Schmidt. The exhibition was brought to life by journalist, photographer, and author Sven Wagner, who aimed to highlight the diverse migration stories and faces in the Wartburg District.
The exhibition has been touring the region since 2022, previously displayed at the district administration office, schools, and town halls. It is currently on display at the Children and Youth Art School thanks to the initiative of Sofia Lagidze, Integration Officer of the city of Bad Liebenstein. Mayor Susanne Rakowski emphasised the importance of the exhibition, recognising the diverse nationalities living in Bad Liebenstein and the value of their voices.
