New 'Future Kaufbeuren Alliance' Launches for March 2026 Election
The upcoming city council election in Kaufbeuren on March 8, 2026, is set to see a new alliance, the 'Future Kaufbeuren Alliance' (BZKf), make its debut. Founded in October 2025, BZKf aims to unite center-right voters and engage nonvoters, with registration for its candidacy opening on December 11 at City Hall and the Neugablonz Citizens’ Office.
BZKf, a nonpartisan coalition, comprises members from the Bavaria Party, the Values Union, the Basis party, and independent supporters. Its chairman, Dr. Thomas Jahn, has welcomed all residents of Kaufbeuren who wish to contribute to the city's well-being to join the alliance. BZKf plans to unveil its candidate slate on November 6.
As this is BZKf's maiden electoral bid, Bavarian municipal law mandates the submission of a petition with 215 supporting signatures from eligible voters.
BZKf's registration opens on December 11, marking a significant step in its preparation for the election day. With its inclusive approach and diverse membership, the alliance seeks to make a strong impression in its first electoral contest.
