New Israeli Flag Raised in Berlin After Arson Attack, Solidarity Vows Strengthened

A new Israeli flag has been installed on the facade of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation Academy in Berlin, replacing one that was set on fire by unknown individuals last Sunday. The act of solidarity comes amidst ongoing investigations by the State Protection Police of the Berlin State Criminal Police Office.

The incident occurred just weeks after the foundation began flying the Israeli flag on October 7, following the attack by Hamas. Ambassador of Israel to Germany, S. E. Ron Prosor, condemned the flag burning, warning that such acts could escalate into more serious antisemitic attacks. He called for decisive action against antisemitism.

Florian Hauer, State Secretary for Federal and European Affairs and International Commissioner of the Land Berlin at the Bund, echoed these sentiments, reaffirming the Berlin Senate's firm stance against antisemitism. Despite investigations, no verified information about the perpetrators has been released.

Prof. Dr. Norbert Lammert, chairman of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, reiterated the foundation's unwavering solidarity with Israel and commitment to combating antisemitism. The foundation has filed a complaint regarding the incident.

The installation of the new flag serves as a powerful symbol of solidarity with Israel and a strong stance against antisemitism. As investigations continue, the Berlin Senate and the Konrad Adenauer Foundation remain resolute in their commitment to fighting hatred and intolerance.
