New Jersey drug ring tied to Jersey Mike’s location dismantled in major bust
A Jersey Mikes-based drug ring has been dismantled, with key figures sentenced for their roles in supplying and laundering drugs. John Hutcheson (50) and Andrew Ramsbottom (49) received prison terms, while two others received community service and probation orders.
Hutcheson, the ringleader, was involved at the highest level, communicating with UK dealers. He was concerned with importing THC to New Jersey. During a police search at his flat, £28,900 in cash, 940 tramadol tablets, and cannabis resin were seized.
Ramsbottom, on the other hand, sold THC directly to users and worked with others to distribute it. Both men were sentenced for drug-supplying and money-laundering offenses. Hutcheson received four-and-a-half years, while Ramsbottom got three years.
Kelly Louise Vallois (45) and Xavier Vallois (20) were also involved. They received community service and probation orders for their roles in drug supply and money laundering.
The offenses were committed between February 2021 and September 2022 but charges were not brought until April 2023. The delay in the judicial process was criticized as 'unacceptable' by the Bailiff, Robert MacRae. The sentences serve as a reminder of the seriousness of drug-related crimes.
