New Jersey Latino Pastors Split: Ruiz Remains Neutral, Escotto Endorses Ciattarelli

In the New Jersey gubernatorial race, Rev. Raul Ruiz, president of the New Jersey Coalition of Latino Pastors and Ministers, has maintained a neutral stance. Meanwhile, the Confraternidad Latina de Pastores, led by Julio Escotto, has endorsed Republican candidate Jack Ciattarelli.

Rev. Ruiz, the key figure in the coalition, has kept his position nonpartisan, focusing on spiritual guidance rather than political endorsements. This approach reflects the coalition's broad representation, which includes over 100 churches and an estimated 15,000 to 20,000 members.

Julio Escotto, however, has praised Ciattarelli's leadership and commitment to unity and equal participation. The Confraternidad Latina de Pastores, a separate entity from the coalition, has officially endorsed Ciattarelli, aligning with his vision for traditional family-oriented values.

While the New Jersey Coalition of Latino Pastors and Ministers remains neutral under Rev. Ruiz's leadership, the Confraternidad Latina de Pastores, under Julio Escotto, has thrown its weight behind Jack Ciattarelli in the gubernatorial race.
