New Lighthouse Concept Uses Beacons to Guide Residents in Crises
A new standardised signage system has been introduced across the district to help residents locate emergency services during crises. Known as the Lighthouse Concept, the initiative includes clear markings for warming centres, crisis information points, and emergency beacons. District Administrator Dr. Legler recently presented the first signs to the municipality of Schöllkrippen.
The district administration developed the uniform signage to simplify access to critical services in extreme weather or disasters. Emergency beacons will be placed at fire stations, while crisis information points will operate from town halls. Warming centres, designed to offer shelter and basic supplies, will also display the new signs.
The Lighthouse Concept aims to improve public safety by making emergency services more visible. With standardised signs and digital resources, residents can quickly find help during extreme conditions. Officials urge the community to stay informed through alert apps and official websites.
