New residents’ council elected to voice concerns at senior care home

A new residents’ council has been elected at Clemens-Kessler House, a senior care home run by the Red Cross. The vote saw strong turnout, with many residents taking part in the process. The newly formed group will represent their neighbors’ interests in the facility.

The council now includes five members: Gerda Fischer as chair, Johanna Ganser as deputy chair, along with Johanna Führmann, Reverend Gebhard Schneider, and Marcella von Königsmarck. Their roles involve gathering feedback, concerns, and suggestions from residents to improve daily life.

Andreas Hüller, director of the Red Cross facility, welcomed the high level of engagement shown by residents. He noted that the council acts as a direct link between those living at Clemens-Kessler House, the management team, and staff. The election itself highlighted the community’s commitment to shaping their living environment. By voicing collective needs, the council aims to ensure better communication and responsiveness within the care home.

The newly elected council will now work to strengthen resident involvement at Clemens-Kessler House. Their responsibilities include addressing concerns and proposing changes to enhance quality of life. The group’s formation reflects an ongoing effort to keep residents actively engaged in decision-making.
