New Shogrinskoye Waste Transfer Station Opens Ahead of Landfill Closure

A new waste transfer station has opened in Shogrinskoye village to manage garbage collection in the Artemovsky Municipal District. The facility, launched by Spetsavtobaza, comes ahead of the planned closure of the Bulanash landfill in early 2026. Officials describe it as a temporary solution to keep waste removal running smoothly.

The station sits 1,100 metres northeast of 66 Sovetskaya Street in Shogrinskoye. Its purpose is to load garbage into heavy vehicles before transporting it to existing landfills. Authorities stress that the site is not designed for long-term storage and operates under constant supervision.

The need for the transfer point arose after a court ordered the Bulanash landfill to close in February 2026. With distant landfills and restricted logistics routes, the station ensures waste can still be moved without interruption. No public details have emerged about a newly built transfer station in Shagyrinskoye, Kazakhstan, or the exact distances to the nearest disposal sites as of March 2026.

The transfer station provides a short-term fix for waste management in the Artemovsky District. It will remain in use until alternative solutions are found or the landfill situation changes. Officials continue to monitor its operations closely.
