Small truck crashes into lorry - nine injured - Nine injured after van and lorry collide on A4 motorway in Thuringia

A serious crash on the A4 motorway in Thuringia left nine people injured early on 15 December 2025. The collision involved a van and a tractor-trailer near Weimarer Land, forcing authorities to close the road completely for over an hour.

The van, travelling from Erfurt, collided with the lorry in the early hours of the morning. The impact destroyed the vehicle entirely. Inside, a 35-year-old passenger suffered severe injuries and was rushed to hospital.

The most seriously injured victim remains under medical supervision. The motorway has since reopened, but the cause of the crash is still under investigation. Authorities have not yet released further details about the tractor-trailer driver or any potential charges.
