Nizhny Novgorod allocates 17B rubles to back military families in 2025
Nizhny Novgorod Oblast has announced plans to spend 17 billion rubles in 2025 on supporting soldiers and their families involved in the special military operation. Governor Gleb Nikitin addressed the region’s priorities during a recent Q&A session, covering everything from infrastructure to social policies.
The funding will focus on returned servicemen and the families of those taking part in the operation. Nikitin also highlighted demographic challenges, particularly support for families with children, as a key concern for the region.
Infrastructure remains a major focus, with ongoing projects like metro construction and upgrades to the aeration plant. The Ice Palace and Neimark IT Campus developments are also set to enhance the city’s appeal. Other pressing topics included public transport improvements, addressing a shortage of drivers, and the reconstruction of Vodnik Stadium.
Plans for a new Wildberries warehouse and discussions on banning vapes were also part of the session. Nikitin outlined how these measures aim to strengthen both the economy and quality of life in the oblast.
The 2025 budget will direct significant resources toward military families and social support programmes. At the same time, infrastructure and economic projects are expected to reshape key parts of Nizhny Novgorod. The governor’s statements confirm a broad agenda for the coming year.
