Nizhny Novgorod Celebrates Its People Through Striking Public Art
Nizhny Novgorod's Mayor Yuri Shalabaev has launched an inspiring public art project, 'A City Is Its People'. It displays portraits of 27 diverse residents on outdoor billboards, metro screens, and in Multi-Functional Centres (MFCs). The initiative aims to celebrate the city's people and their unique stories.
The project, proposed by local photographer Konstantin Trubnikov and approved by Mayor Shalabaev, features a mix of individuals. These include teachers, doctors, mothers of large families, coaches, entrepreneurs, and designers. The message behind the portraits is 'Live. Love. Cherish. Create. Warm with a kind word. To be needed is to be happy'.
