Nizhny Novgorod Mayor Backs Student Rowing Champs, 'Gorky's Frontier' Rally, UAV Innovation Centre
In a recent meeting, Yury Shalabayev, the head of Nizhny Novgorod, engaged with students from the NGTU named after R.E. Alexeyev. The dialogue covered a range of innovative ideas and events, including the potential hosting of national student rowing championships and the presentation of the youth rally 'Gorky's Frontier'.
The students proposed a variety of initiatives and projects during the discussion. One notable proposal was the hosting of the national student rowing championships in Nizhny Novgorod. This event, if realised, would attract student rowers from across the country and foster a spirit of competition and camaraderie among the participants.
The youth rally 'Gorky's Frontier' was also presented to the city head. This event involves reenactors, strikeball players, and members of military-patriotic clubs, offering a unique blend of history, sports, and patriotism. Yury Shalabayev tasked Vladimir Anisimov, the city's deputy head and participant in the 'Spirit of Victory' (SVO) project, to support the next 'Gorky's Frontier' rally. Anisimov was also instructed to incorporate exhibits from SVO and Victory museums into the event.
Additionally, the establishment of an open innovation centre for testing unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and new developments was discussed. This centre would provide a space for students and innovators to experiment and refine their ideas, potentially leading to significant technological advancements.
The meeting between Yury Shalabayev and the students of NGTU resulted in several exciting proposals and commitments. The potential hosting of the national student rowing championships, the support for the 'Gorky's Frontier' rally, and the establishment of an open innovation centre for UAV testing demonstrate the city's commitment to fostering innovation, sports, and patriotism among its youth.
