Nizhny Novgorod nears 2025 autumn conscription goal ahead of schedule

The Nizhny Novgorod region has already fulfilled over 70% of its autumn 2025 conscription target. More than 2,200 conscripts are expected to be called up in the coming weeks. Colonel Alexey Kozlov, the regional military commissioner, is overseeing the campaign, which remains on schedule without reported delays.

A meeting of the regional draft commission took place to review progress on the autumn 2025 conscription plan. Attendees included Deputy Governor Alexander Pavlov, who chairs the commission, along with Colonel Sergei Agafonov, the regional military commissar. Human Rights Commissioner Oksana Kislitsyna and Security Minister Sergei Razin were also present.

The autumn 2025 draft in Nizhny Novgorod continues as planned, with no reported issues in forming contingents. The focus remains on meeting legal standards and fulfilling the remaining quota. Conscripts will serve in designated military units, excluding conflict zones and newly annexed territories.
