Nizhny Novgorod Operator Wins Federal 'Best in Profession' Title

Alexander Petrov, a milling machine operator from Nizhny Novgorod, has emerged victorious in the 'Milling Machine Operator' category at the federal stage of the All-Russian professional skills competition 'Best in Profession'. The competition took place in Smolensk, with winners receiving substantial monetary prizes: 1 million rubles for first place, 500 thousand for second place, and 300 thousand for third place. The award ceremony is scheduled for December in Moscow.

Petrov, who works at JSC 'OKBM named after I.I. Afrikanov' with over a decade of experience, faced challenges such as precise manufacturing of parts according to drawings, creative tests, and evaluation of workplace organization and safety norms. Despite the rigorous tasks, Petrov demonstrated exceptional skill, earning him the top spot in his category. His win is a testament to the high level of training of specialists in the Nizhny Novgorod region, as praised by Igor Pantyukhin, head of the Department of Labor and Employment. Petrov himself noted that winning the competition was a serious test and a stimulus for further professional development. The 'Best in Profession' competition is part of the national project 'Human Resources', featuring regional and federal stages in 20 professional areas.
