Nizhny Novgorod residents rally against soaring transport fares on September 23
The Nizhny Novgorod branch of the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia (LDPR) is organising a protest against rising public transport costs. The event will take place on September 23, as residents face higher fares for buses, trams, and electric transport. The protest is set to run from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Soviet Square. Organisers are speaking out against recent fare increases, which have already hit electric transport and utility bills. Another rise in bus and tram prices is also expected soon. The demonstration aims to challenge the latest transport price hikes in Nizhny Novgorod. The LDPR insists the increases will burden struggling households while funding upgrades that won’t directly benefit passengers. The protest will give residents a chance to voice their concerns.
