Nizhny Novgorod teachers see 11.3% pay rise in 2025

Official figures show that teachers in the Nizhny Novgorod region earned an average of 59,252.7 rubles per month between January and October 2025. This marks an 11.3% rise compared to the same period last year. The increase follows recent changes to public sector pay scales and indexation adjustments.

The salary boost stems from two key measures. First, a 7.2% base pay increase for all public sector employees took effect on 1 October 2024. Second, standard indexation further lifted earnings. Together, these changes pushed the average monthly wage for teachers to its current level.

The 11.3% year-on-year growth reflects the combined impact of indexation and the October 2024 base salary hike. Teachers in the region now earn an average of 59,252.7 rubles monthly, though this figure does not account for federal supervision bonuses. The regional government has not provided information on the minister’s compensation.
