Nizhny Novgorod unites under stormy skies for National Unity Day celebrations
Thousands of Nizhny Novgorod residents braved rain and wind to celebrate National Unity Day. The event saw a massive 100-meter Russian flag unfurled on Ivanovo Hill. Chair of the Regional Legislative Assembly, Yevgeny Lyulin, shared his thoughts on the occasion.
Lyulin, along with other leaders, paid respects at the graves of Kozma Minin and Patriarch Hermogenes. He praised volunteers as 'resolute and fearless', meeting them personally during the celebrations. The day included a cross procession to Unity Square and prayers for those involved in the special military operation.
Lyulin, in his impressions shared on November 4, 2021, via the MAX messaging platform, highlighted the unity among Orthodox Christians, Muslims, and Jews. He believes this unity and patriotism remain unchanged throughout history.
