Nizhny Novgorod’s 2026 budget prioritizes growth and social security under Nikitin

Nizhny Novgorod's draft budget for 2026–2028 has been submitted to the city Duma. Governor Gleb Nikitin has overseen the plan, which reveals a projected revenue of 75 billion rubles for 2026, a significant increase from the initially forecast 66 billion for 2025.

The budget prioritises urban development, with secured funding for road repairs, public space enhancements, and new infrastructure projects. This focus aims to improve the city's infrastructure and quality of life.

Notably, the budget maintains a strong social security focus. Around 60% of expenditures are allocated to key sectors such as education, social policy, culture, and sports. This allocation reflects the administration's commitment to supporting these vital areas.

The draft budget for 2026–2028, under Governor Gleb Nikitin's leadership, projects a substantial revenue increase to 75 billion rubles in 2026. It prioritises urban development and maintains a significant social security focus, with 60% of expenditures allocated to education, social policy, culture, and sports. The city Duma will now consider this budget plan.
