Nizhnyaya Tura and Tieling Forge Sister City Bond to Boost Trade
The cities of Nizhnyaya Tura in Russia and Tieling in China have officially become sister cities. A formal agreement was signed on June 18, 2019, during a visit by a delegation from Sverdlovsk Oblast to Tieling. The partnership aims to strengthen trade and cultural ties between the two regions.
The memorandum of understanding was signed by Andrei Postovalov, head of Nizhnyaya Tura Municipal District, and Tieling Mayor Zhang Baodong. The delegation from Sverdlovsk included State Duma Deputy Anton Shipulin and Fyodor Dergachev, chairman of the board of directors at Tizol JSC, a major local construction materials producer.
The sister city agreement builds on shared historical ties, particularly the legacy of Ren Fucheng. Both cities now look to expand trade and cooperation. Future exchanges will focus on increasing business opportunities and strengthening regional development.
