Norbert Bentz Honored for 50 Years of Lifesaving THW Leadership

Norbert Bentz has received the Federal Cross of Merit for his lifelong commitment to Germany’s Federal Agency for Technical Relief (THW). The award recognizes over 50 years of service, including leadership roles and emergency response efforts across the country. His work has left a lasting impact on disaster relief and community safety.

Bentz first joined the THW in 1973, founding the youth group of the St. Ingbert local chapter. His early involvement laid the foundation for decades of service. By 2007, he had strengthened collaboration by establishing a partnership with St. Ingbert’s fire department, improving joint operations.
