NPP’s Peace Pact Aims to Unify Presidential Hopefuls Before 2026 Primaries

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) is preparing for its presidential primaries on January 31, 2026. The NPP Presidential Elections Committee has announced plans to sign a Peace Pact with five presidential hopefuls to ensure a smooth and peaceful process. The aspirants are Kennedy Agyapong, Dr Bryan Acheampong, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum, and Kwabena Agyepong.

Kennedy Agyapong, a former Member of Parliament for Assin Central and one of the flagbearer aspirants, has been in the news recently. He has denied claims that he called on Akans to reject minority tribes. Instead, he has emphasized the importance of unity within the NPP party. Agyapong warned that disunity could undermine the party's collective progress and weaken its position in the upcoming presidential election. He urged members, particularly from the southern part of the country, to support one another and work together to strengthen the party.

The upcoming Peace Pact is a significant step towards maintaining harmony among the aspirants. The NPP Presidential Elections Committee is committed to ensuring a fair and peaceful process leading up to the primaries.

With the signing of the Peace Pact imminent, the NPP looks forward to a smooth and peaceful presidential election process. The party's unity and collective strength will be crucial in the upcoming election results. Meanwhile, Kennedy Agyapong's call for unity and support among party members continues to resonate.
