Residents Saved from Flames - Firefighter Injured - Nuremberg house fire leaves three injured after overnight blaze
A fire broke out overnight in the basement of a semi-detached house in Nuremberg. Firefighters rushed to the scene, where thick smoke made their efforts more difficult. Two adults and a child were rescued from the burning building.
The blaze began in the basement, filling the house with dense smoke. Crews used a turntable ladder to reach and bring down the trapped residents. All three were taken to hospital with minor injuries.
During the operation, a firefighter fell down a staircase and hurt his back. He was also hospitalised for treatment. Nearby, the adjacent property was briefly evacuated as a precaution. Firefighters checked for smoke but found no immediate danger.
Once the flames were fully extinguished, residents of the neighbouring building were allowed to return home.
The fire caused no serious structural damage to the house, though repairs will be needed. The injured residents and firefighter remain under medical care. Authorities have not yet confirmed the exact cause of the blaze.
