Offenbach rocked by crime wave: burglaries, drugs, and hate symbols in one day
A series of incidents unfolded across Offenbach and nearby areas on Tuesday, including a burglary, drug-related arrest, and multiple cases of vandalism. Police also responded to a swastika graffiti report and a serious traffic collision.
Early on Tuesday, unknown intruders broke into an apartment in Offenbach between 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. They stole cash and jewellery, leaving behind roughly €500 in property damage.
Later that evening, officers arrested a 20-year-old man on suspicion of drug trafficking. During the arrest, they seized 396 grams of hashish, 1.2 grams of cocaine, nearly €7,000 in cash, and two mobile phones. Meanwhile, a swastika was discovered painted on a house wall in Offenbach at around 11:40 a.m. Police launched an investigation into the incident. On Frankfurter Straße in Seligenstadt, an unidentified driver damaged a parked gray Opel Meriva between 4:15 p.m. and 5:00 p.m., causing around €2,000 in repairs. In Dietzenbach, the front tire of a Smart car was slashed overnight on Rheinstraße, resulting in minor damage estimated at €50. A rear-end collision on Federal Highway 486 near Offenthal left two people injured and caused approximately €30,000 in vehicle damage. Police have since questioned several individuals—including residents from Dietzenbach and Offenbach—as part of coordinated raids. Authorities also searched apartments and interviewed at least one person linked to an incident near a Shisha bar in Offenbach.
Investigations into the burglary, drug arrest, and vandalism cases remain ongoing. The rear-end collision victims continue to receive medical attention, while police work to identify those responsible for the property damage and hate symbol. No further details on suspects have been released.
