Offenbach’s ‘Cleanup Crew’ Secures Three More Years of Service
Offenbach has extended the contracts of its long-serving 'cleanup crew' for another three years. Thomas Albrecht and Harald Klein, known for keeping the city center tidy, will continue their work under the Clean City Center initiative. The decision follows years of service and recognition from both officials and residents.
The Clean City Center programme was launched in 1998 under the regulatory office. Albrecht and Klein have since become familiar figures, regularly patrolling the area to pick up litter, report illegal bulk waste, and assist waste detectives. Their consistent presence has made them a go-to contact for locals with concerns about cleanliness.
With the extension now in place, Albrecht and Klein will remain part of Offenbach’s efforts to keep public spaces clean. Their work covers daily litter collection, monitoring illegal dumping, and collaborating with authorities. The city expects their continued presence to help sustain a well-maintained urban environment.
