Offenbach’s Hafenallee 59 redevelopment kicks off with road and park upgrades

Construction work has begun at Hafenallee 59 in Offenbach, marking the start of a major redevelopment project management. The site has been prepared in early May, with interior demolition already taking place inside the existing structure. The work will pave the way for a new road, intersection, and traffic light system in the area.

The project was tendered by Mainviertel Offenbach GmbH & Co. KG at the beginning of May. One of the first key steps involves demolishing parts of the current site, with work set to start on Monday, 27 May 2024. This phase is expected to last around two weeks and is necessary to create a direct link between Hafenallee and the Walter-Spiller Bridge.

The current provisional, winding route will be replaced by a newly built road, complete with an intersection and traffic light system. Additionally, the project includes the development of the southern section of Lower Molenpark, connecting it to the Main River Promenade in the eastern harbour area.

In preparation for the construction, CDM Smith Consult GmbH and the Nordend Boxing Club have already relocated to the nearby Rockywood complex. All works are scheduled for completion by the end of the year, provided weather conditions remain favourable.

The redevelopment will transform the area around Hafenallee 59, improving access and infrastructure. Once finished, the new road and traffic system will replace the temporary route, while the Lower Molenpark will be integrated into the harbour’s promenade. The project remains on track for completion before the year’s end.
