Offenbach's New Digital Tool Helps Voters Match Views with Parties
A new digital tool called voto – My Vote Check has launched to help voters in Offenbach prepare for the 2026 municipal elections. The independent platform aims to make local politics more accessible by matching users' views with party positions on key issues.
The online guide asks users to respond to around 30 statements on topics like youth engagement, transport, the environment and housing. After completing the questionnaire, voters can see which parties align most closely with their own opinions.
Developed with input from young people, the project focuses on issues that matter at the municipal level. It was created in partnership with youth organisations, local services and the Demokratie leben! initiative. While similar tools exist for regional elections in Nordhessen, Offenbach appears to be among the first to introduce such a tailored digital aid for local voting.
The platform is now available for Offenbach residents ahead of the 2026 elections. It offers a straightforward way to compare personal priorities with party policies before casting a ballot. The initiative reflects growing efforts to engage younger voters in local decision-making.
