Officer in Danger: Suspect Driver Rams Police on Greek Street
A police officer was put in danger early this morning on Greek Street when a suspect driver accelerated towards them during a traffic stop. The incident occurred around 3 a.m. and resulted in the impoundment of the suspect's vehicle after consultation with the prosecutor's office.
The officer initially approached the car due to its loud engine noise. The driver initially slowed down but then suddenly accelerated towards the officer, who had to dive out of the way to avoid injury. The officers quickly pursued the fleeing suspect, who violated several traffic laws in the process, including driving without lights and running a red light. The identity of the unknown perpetrator has not been disclosed.
The suspect's car was eventually impounded following the incident. The police are investigating the matter further.
