Awards for Grandmas Against the Right and Music Project - ‘Old Grannies Against the Far Right’ Win Prestigious Activism Prize

Two community initiatives have been awarded the Regine Hildebrandt Prize for their outstanding work. The SPD recognised the 'Old Grannies Against the Far Right' and a Dresden music project for their dedication to social causes. The prize honours groups that reflect the values of the late politician Regine Hildebrandt.

The 'Old Grannies Against the Far Right' initiative operates in Potsdam and Bamberg. In Bamberg, members regularly hold memorials for victims of Nazism. Their efforts have strengthened local resistance against extremism.

Both initiatives will receive the prize in recognition of their contributions. The 'Old Grannies Against the Far Right' continue their activism against extremism, while Musaik expands its music-based support for young people. The SPD’s award underscores their role in upholding Hildebrandt’s legacy.
