Oliver Blume steps down from Porsche as his earnings surge by €3 million
Oliver Blume has stepped back from leading Porsche to focus entirely on his role as Volkswagen's CEO. The change took effect at the start of 2023, leaving Porsche under new leadership. Meanwhile, his earnings for 2024 have risen significantly compared to previous years.
Blume previously held dual responsibilities as CEO of both Volkswagen and Porsche. In 2022, he earned around €1.9 million from Porsche alone. His total compensation for that year, including base salary, pension provisions, and long-term payments, reached roughly €7.4 million.
By 2024, his earnings had increased by about €3 million compared to 2022. His pay package consists of a fixed salary and a variable component linked to financial performance and annual targets set by the supervisory board.
Michael Leiters has since taken over as Porsche's CEO in Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen. Details of Leiters' 2023 compensation remain undisclosed, as he only assumed the role in early 2026. Before that, Blume had led Porsche alongside his Volkswagen duties.
Blume's decision to focus solely on Volkswagen has coincided with a notable rise in his earnings. The shift in leadership at Porsche marks a new phase for the company. Financial incentives for executives continue to depend on meeting performance targets set by the supervisory board.
