Omniva Drops Russian Website Support from Nov 1, 2023
Omniva, Estonia's state-owned postal service, will cease its website support in Russian from November 1, 2023. This decision follows a decline in the number of Russian-speaking customers requiring translation services.
The move comes as Omniva's commercial director cited a reduction in the need for Russian language support. Consequently, the Russian-language support line will also be discontinued. All staff previously handling Russian calls will be reassigned to Estonian and English lines. This change reflects the evolving linguistic needs of Omniva's customer base.
It is important to note that this is not an isolated incident. Similar decisions have been made by other organizations in Estonia, reflecting broader shifts in the linguistic landscape.
From November 1, 2023, Omniva's website will no longer offer support in Russian. This change is a response to a decrease in demand for Russian language services. Customers requiring assistance in Russian are advised to seek help before the deadline.
