Omsk's Risik eyes global markets after 50+ trade leads in Dubai
Omsk-based food producer Risik has made strides in expanding its reach beyond Russia. The company, which specialises in roti, flatbreads, and tortillas, recently secured over 50 business contacts at a major international trade event. This comes as part of a broader push by the region's Export Support Center to help local manufacturers enter foreign markets.
Founded in 2010, Risik operates from modern facilities on the Left Bank of Omsk. The company employs 240 skilled workers and stands as Russia's only producer of roti, flatbreads, and tortillas. Daily output reaches around 15 tons, equivalent to roughly 50,000 packages of roti.
At the Gulfood-2026 exhibition in Dubai, Risik connected with more than 50 potential distributors. While its products have already entered markets in Mongolia, Germany, and Belarus, talks are now underway with buyers in the Persian Gulf. So far, no official imports or distribution deals outside Russia have been confirmed.
The company's progress aligns with wider efforts by Omsk Region's Export Support Center. By the end of 2025, the centre helped 73 local firms secure export contracts, with 10 businesses expanding abroad for the first time. A total of 259 agreements worth $52.24 million were signed. The centre also provides training, assists with contract drafting, and organises trade missions to support manufacturers like Risik in entering new markets.
Risik's participation in international exhibitions reflects its ambition to grow beyond Russia. With ongoing negotiations and support from Omsk's export initiatives, the company aims to establish a stronger presence in global food markets. The region's Export Support Center continues to back other local producers in similar expansion efforts.
