Orenburg Region Unveils 2026-2028 Budget Plan, Prioritizing Social Commitments and Economic Growth
Governor Yevgeny Solntsev has outlined the Orenburg region's budget plans for 2026-2028. The budget maintains a social focus, ensuring wage and benefit commitments. It will be submitted to the regional parliament by November 1.
The region has adopted its socio-economic development forecast for the next three years. This forecast will guide the drafting of the regional budget and shape long-term strategies. Governor Solntsev highlighted key priorities: boosting labor productivity, optimizing investments, and advancing technological development.
Orenburg's economy has shown resilience in 2023, despite external pressures. Nominal wage growth in 2025 reached 118.6%, surpassing Russia's average of 114.4%. The region ranks second in the Volga Federal District and 23rd nationwide in per capita gross regional product. Positive trends include sustained investment growth, increased manufacturing output, and rising small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and self-employed workers.
The Orenburg region's budget for 2026-2028 will prioritize social commitments and economic growth. The approved socio-economic forecast will guide budget drafting and long-term strategy. Despite constraints, the region anticipates balanced economic growth in the medium term.
