Osthofen's Town Center Revitalized with €350,000 in Funding
Osthofen, a town in the Alzey-Worms district, has received a boost with €350,000 in urban development funding. This money, from the federal-state program 'Growth and Sustainable Development – Sustainable City', will support ongoing revitalization efforts in the town center.
The funds will be used to enhance the Schill area. New green spaces and landscaped recreational zones will be created, providing more opportunities for residents to enjoy the outdoors. Additionally, traffic-calming measures will be implemented to improve safety and reduce congestion.
The Zehnthof complex will also see expansion, while an unused double garage will be demolished to make way for these improvements. Notably, a privately owned plot will be integrated into the public space, further expanding the areas available for community use. This integration is part of Osthofen's ongoing efforts to revitalize its economic center.
Since 2014, Osthofen has received a total of €4.85 million for its designated development area. The latest €350,000 will contribute to the ongoing revitalization efforts, enhancing the town center's green spaces, safety, and overall appeal. The integration of a private plot into the public space is a significant step towards achieving these goals.
