Ottenhofen’s Free Voters unveil election team with fresh and veteran faces

The Free Voters Ottenhofen has revealed its team for the upcoming municipal elections. Laura Bidinger, 35, will lead the party’s council slate, while Markus Mair will run as its candidate for mayor. The group is advocating for greater citizen involvement and transparency in local decision-making.

Bidinger, who joined the council in 2020, described her first term as a 'positive experience'. She now heads a list that includes both new faces and long-serving members. Deputy Mayor Dieter Effkemann and veteran councilor Dieter Heckel, in office since at least 2009, are stepping down this year.

Benjamin Hundhammer, an industrial master electrician, takes the second spot on the list. His background in energy infrastructure aligns with the party’s focus on exploring local energy solutions. Veronika Lippacher, a tax advisor and mother of three, moves up from eighth to third place, emphasizing children’s needs and financial openness.

The party’s platform covers youth leisure, support for local clubs, and upgrades to schools and daycare. Infrastructure improvements and maintaining the town’s character also feature prominently. Alfred Greckl, a councilor from Unterschwillach, is seeking a third term to complete ongoing projects. Meanwhile, Andreas Lippacher, who has served for 24 years, called his work 'an addiction—I absolutely love it'.

The Free Voters Ottenhofen will contest the election with a mix of fresh candidates and experienced members. Their proposals center on transparency, local services, and sustainable development. Voters will decide whether to back their plans in the upcoming ballot.
