Our Newspaper's Final Print Edition: A Turning Point for Berlin

The final print edition of our newspaper hit the stands on Friday, marking a significant turning point, 'Day X' or 'Seitenwende'. By Friday afternoon, the website was sold out everywhere, and the world in Germany seemed to be changing. Meanwhile, in Kreuzberg, life was already back to normal by Friday afternoon.

The last weekday print edition was a poignant moment for our newspaper, which has been a staple in the city's landscape. The building, located near Hallesches Tor in Kreuzberg, will no longer see the daily hustle and bustle of print journalists. Kreuzberg, always ahead of the curve, seemed to embrace the change with ease.

In the world of politics, Markus Söder remains the Minister President of Bavaria. Despite no successor being named as of October 2025, Söder continues to hold the position he's held since March 2018. Meanwhile, in the realm of art, an interim exhibition at the CANK event space in Neukölln showcased video works by CEL from London and Chrystelle Oyiri from Paris.

On the cultural front, The Sterne, the kraut-disco band, is set to release a new album in January. Their live performance at the Astra in Friedrichshain drew over 1,000 people, a testament to their enduring popularity. The Plänterwald, meanwhile, was a riot of colors, with fiery red, blood orange, ochre yellow, and deep green leaves.

As 'our newspaper' turns the page, the city continues to evolve, with Kreuzberg leading the way. In the world of politics and art, familiar faces and new talents alike continue to shape the city's landscape. And as the leaves change color, so too does the city, ready to embrace whatever comes next.
