Over 100 Experts Gather for 'Early Development, Strong Future' Conference

Over 100 experts gathered at Mülheim an der Ruhr town hall on September 24th for the conference 'Early Development, Strong Future - The First 1000 Days and Their Lifelong Impact', hosted by the German Child Protection Association. The event, opened by City Director David A. Luengen, emphasized the societal importance of early childhood and the shared responsibility in promoting it.

Prof. Dr. Anke Lengning kicked off the conference with a presentation on attachment theory. She highlighted the crucial role of professionals in children's attachment development and how secure attachments boost children's resilience and learning ability.

Prof. Dr. Janine Trunk followed, discussing the development of feelings and emotion regulation in infants. She stressed the importance of close interaction with reference persons during this critical period.

The conference also offered practical workshops. Participants learned valuable tools for their daily work, including breastfeeding promotion, strengthening parents, and early childhood education. The event concluded with musical performances, images, and voices from the workshops, fostering exchange, inspiration, and networking among attendees.
