Over 90,000 Belarusians Now Call Poland Home
Over 90,000 Belarusians now call Poland home, with a significant increase in residence permits issued in 2025. This trend reflects the growing Belarusian community in Poland, with most living in the Masovian voivodeship.
By October 1, 2025, 90,500 Belarusians resided in Poland with temporary permits, while 42,000 had permanent ones. Notably, 518 Belarusians gained long-term EU resident status, with 2,000 of those in Poland.
In 2025 alone, 37,700 Belarusians applied for residence permits, with the Masovian voivodeship leading the way with 14,000 applications. Of these, 21,700 received temporary permits, predominantly men aged 35 to 64. Meanwhile, 3,800 were granted permanent residence, largely due to Polish heritage.
The growing Belarusian community in Poland is reflected in the increasing number of residence permits issued in 2025. The Masovian voivodeship remains the primary destination for Belarusians seeking residence in Poland.
