Overnight car fire guts convertible in Berlin’s Kreuzberg district
A car fire broke out overnight in Berlin’s Kreuzberg district. The blaze completely destroyed a convertible parked at the intersection of Segitzdamm and Prinzessinnenstraße. Emergency services responded after a passerby reported the flames at around 2:40 a.m.
The fire caused significant disruption in the area. Authorities closed Segitzdamm between Oranienstraße and Prinzessinnenstraße while firefighters worked to extinguish the blaze. Two other vehicles parked nearby also suffered damage from the heat and flames.
The burnt-out convertible remains at the scene as part of the ongoing inquiry. Road restrictions have since been lifted, but the cause of the fire is still under investigation. Further details will depend on the findings of the arson specialists.
