ÖVP's Patrik Fazekas exits politics for strategic consulting career
Patrik Fazekas, a 36-year-old politician from Central Burgenland, has left his role at the Austrian People's Party (ÖVP). His departure marks the end of a two-year stint as head of the Campaigns and Organisation department at the party's federal headquarters in Vienna.
Fazekas first took on the position in September 2022, overseeing key areas of the ÖVP's political strategy. Before that, he served as a state parliamentarian for the party. His resignation came at his own request, with no public explanation provided.
Since leaving the ÖVP in 2024, Fazekas has shifted his focus to strategic consulting. His work now centres on communication, new media, and digital transformation. However, he has not announced any specific projects or contracts. Instead, he operates as an independent advisor without publicly disclosed clients.
The move signals a clear change in direction for Fazekas, who spent years in party politics. His consulting business remains active, though details about his current work remain limited. The ÖVP has not yet named a successor for his former role.
