Pahang flood response running smoothly, says MB

Flood relief efforts in Pahang remain steady despite rising victim numbers. As of 2pm, over 10,000 people from 3,477 families have been moved to 77 temporary shelters. Authorities confirm the operation is running smoothly under controlled conditions.

Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail visited flood victims in Pekan and Kuantan. At one centre in Kuantan, 148 people from 58 families are currently staying. He urged residents not to return home without official clearance, citing safety concerns.

Rain has caused minor delays in food preparation at some shelters. However, authorities assured that meals will still be provided. Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy also warned against sharing unverified flood updates, stressing the need for accurate information.

The flood response in Pahang continues with organised support for displaced families. Temporary shelters remain operational, and food distribution is ongoing despite weather challenges. Officials are monitoring the situation closely to ensure public safety.
